Training on first aid for door supervisors and security guards

Before beginning their license-linked training, applicants for a door supervisor or security guard licence must must pass a first aid qualification.

You must perform this if either of the following conditions applies:

  • You are applying for your first licence.
  • You have not held a licence for that activity in more than three years.
  • This is also required while renewing your licence.

An Emergency First Aid at Work qualification or equivalent is required. For our SIA first aid course, you’ll undertake the 1-day emergency first aid at work course.

As a SIA licence holder, the necessity for first aid training will improve your skills. It will not affect your duty when reacting to an emergency.
