Student Reviews & Feedback

I completed my first aid at work course with Skills Training Group at their Manchester office. Alan was the most enthusiastic first aid trainer I’ve had. In fact, I’ve attended a few first aid courses now and this is the best one that I’ve been on! I’d recommend Skills Training Group to anyone. – Katie Parker

For anyone needing their first aid certification, I’d recommend the guys at STG. The first aid venue was easy to get to and the price was the best that I could find. Top guys, thank you! – Simon Walter

It covers the basics of handling emergencies, including managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, choking, shock, bleeding, and minor injuries. This course is ideal for small workplaces that present few health and safety risks.

First Aid at Work Course (3 Days):

A comprehensive three-day course, this is suitable for individuals appointed as a first aider in their workplace. It covers a wider range of topics than the one-day course, including more in-depth training on issues such as dealing with multiple casualties, managing major injuries like fractures and unconsciousness, and handling specific workplace hazards. The course also revisits and reinforces the basic principles of first aid.

First Aid at Work Refresher Course (2 Days):

This two-day refresher course is designed for individuals who have previously completed the First Aid at Work Course and need to renew their certification. It updates and refreshes their knowledge and skills, ensuring they remain confident and competent in providing first aid at work. The course includes a review of key skills and introduces any new techniques or updates to first aid guidance.

Emergency Paediatric First Aid Course (1 Day):

Tailored for those caring for young children, this one-day course focuses on emergency scenarios that are common in a childcare setting. It includes handling paediatric emergencies like choking, unconsciousness, injuries, febrile convulsions, and anaphylaxis. This course is ideal for nursery and primary school staff, nannies, and childminders.

Basic Life Support Training (3 Hours):

A short course of approximately three hours, Basic Life Support Training provides the fundamentals of life-saving techniques. It typically includes CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training, use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED), and basic techniques to manage choking and unconscious patients. This course is suitable for the general public, including those in non-healthcare settings.

Mental Health First Aid Training:

This course aims to educate participants about mental health, helping them to identify, understand, and support someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue. It covers a range of mental health conditions, provides guidance on how to approach someone who is experiencing mental distress, and teaches the skills needed to support positive wellbeing. This training is increasingly popular in workplaces and communities, reflecting a growing awareness of the importance of mental health.
