Public Emergency First Aid at Work and blended First Aid at Work courses take place at Fairfield Golf Club, Kings Road, Audenshaw, Manchester, M34 5FA. The venue is east of the city centre; the club identifies M60 junction 23 as nearby. Your joining instructions will confirm the session arrangements.
Fairfield Golf Club advertises free on-site parking in its venue brochure. Follow any parking instructions provided for your course. If you need a particular parking or drop-off arrangement, tell us before booking so we can check it with the venue.
The club advertises a lift serving its first-floor 1892 Suite. Contact us before booking if you have access requirements, so we can confirm the room and route used for your training. Please also tell us about any support you may need during practical activities or assessment.
Read your joining instructions for the arrival time and anything needed for your booking. Comfortable clothing that allows you to move during practical exercises is sensible. Fairfield has catering facilities, but opening hours and arrangements vary; ask us about refreshments and lunch for your course date rather than assuming they are included.

Emergency First Aid at Work takes one practical day and costs £95 + VAT (£114 including VAT) per person. Blended First Aid at Work costs £195 + VAT (£234 including VAT) per person and combines six hours of online learning with two practical days. Your employer's first aid needs assessment should guide the choice. EFAW covers core emergency skills; FAW includes a broader range of injuries and illnesses. Consider workplace hazards, staffing and the people needing help. If your role is in childcare, explore paediatric first aid separately rather than choosing solely by course length.
For blended First Aid at Work, complete the six-hour online element before attending the two practical days at Fairfield. Keep the completion evidence available and follow your joining instructions. If you have difficulty accessing or completing the online learning, contact us before your practical dates. The Manchester EFAW option is a one-day classroom and practical course.
You will practise first aid skills, including CPR and using an AED, and demonstrate the required skills and understanding to your assessor. Certification depends on successful completion and assessment. Tell us about physical, learning or communication needs before booking: we can discuss suitable adjustments while explaining the practical competence you must demonstrate independently.
Successful EFAW and FAW learners receive the relevant FAIB-accredited certificate, valid for three years. HSE strongly recommends annual refresher training during that period to keep skills current. A refresher does not extend the certificate's expiry date, so plan the appropriate renewal training before it expires.
Yes. Our standard EFAW course includes the additional practical training on life-threatening bleeding and keeping airways open required before SIA door supervisor or security guard training.
