You will do more than listen to a presentation. Your instructor demonstrates first aid techniques, then helps you practise them with the training equipment.
Your certificate is valid for three years on successful completion.

Emergency First Aid at Work, First Aid at Work and paediatric first aid include practical training and assessment, so you attend those sessions in person. Yes. Our standard EFAW course includes the additional practical training on life-threatening bleeding and keeping airways open required before SIA door supervisor or security guard training. Your first aid certificate must have at least 12 months remaining when the SIA licence-linked training starts. Check the EFAW course →
Compare full Level 3 Paediatric First Aid with Emergency Paediatric First Aid against your role and employer’s requirements. Full blended paediatric training includes six hours online and one practical day. The emergency paediatric course takes one day. The course cards show the relevant public or on-site delivery options.
Successful EFAW and FAW learners receive an FAIB-accredited certificate, valid for three years. You must complete the training and meet the assessment requirements. Full paediatric first aid has a different award: the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF).
EFAW and FAW certificates last three years. Plan renewal before the expiry date. EFAW renewal repeats the one-day course; existing FAW certificate holders can ask about the two-day requalification course. I really enjoyed this 3 day first aid course at the Bournemouth venue. Rebecca really made it informative and fun too.
Truthfully I hope I don’t need to use the first aider skills I’ve learned but there’s every chance I may have too, at least I’m able to give someone the emergency medical treatment that’s appropriate. I believe that everybody should do at least the one day emergency first aid course so everybody knows life saving skills.
