How Long Does a First Aid Training Certificate Last For?

In most circumstances, first-aid certificates are valid for three years before they must be renewed; however, the HSE recommends that you take a refresher course once a year.

When you complete your first aid at work training course or an emergency first aid at work course, you’ll be given a certificate that is valid for three years. To obtain a new first aid at work certificate, you must take a two-day refresher course. This refresher needs to be completed within 28 days of the expiration date on your previous certificate.

For an emergency first aid at work certificate, you’ll complete the same course again to renew your qualification.

There are other variations of first-aid certification that have different expiration and renewal requirements. A paediatric first aid certificate, for example, may be renewed every three years; but an AED defibrillator certificate will only be valid for one year before you must take a refresher course to renew it.

Great Michael House, 14 Links Place, Leith, Edinburgh, EH6 7EZ is well served by public transport.

The closest tram stop is York Place which can be reached by taking any of the routes in and around the city centre. It's only a short walk to Great Michael House from the tram stop.

Alternatively, you can take a bus to Ocean Terminal, which is also nearby and easily walkable. The Leith Walk bus can get you to Great Michael House by stopping at Links Place or Madeira Street.

Finally, if you're looking for a train connection, Edinburgh Waverley station is approximately 10 minutes away walking distance. From there, you can take the regular bus services to the Links Place or Madeira Street stops.

79 Glasgow Road, Edinburgh EH12 8LJ is easily accessible by public transport. The closest bus stop is located on Corstorphine Rd/St John’s Rd (Stop PG), which is a 7 minute walk away from the destination.

Alternatively, you can get off at Morrison Street Eastbound (Stop JT) and take a 9 minute walk to 79 Glasgow Road. If you prefer to take the train, you can get off at Edinburgh Park Station and take a 15 minute walk to the destination.



Finally, if you are coming from the airport, you can take AirLink 100 and get off at Morrison Street Eastbound (Stop JT), which is a 10-minute walk away from the destination.

If you're travelling by car, free parking is available to the rear of the building.
