The Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is a widely respected CITB qualification designed for construction professionals who plan, manage, or coordinate on-site operations. Entry Requirements

Course Materials
All delegates receive the official CITB Construction Site Safety GE700 publication, supported by additional handouts and online resources. These materials remain yours after the course and serve as invaluable references throughout your site management career.
Assessment
To successfully complete the SMSTS course, you must:
- Attend all five days of training
- Participate in group exercises and live discussions
- Complete daily knowledge checks and assessments
- Pass the final multiple-choice exam
The assessment format ensures you understand the principles required to manage site safety confidently and competently.
Qualification & Renewal
On completion, you will receive the CITB Site Safety Plus SMSTS Certificate, valid for five years. This qualification is widely required for supervisory and management positions across the UK construction industry.
To renew, you must complete the 2-day SMSTS Refresher Course before your certificate expires.
