Skills Training Group’s MET4 gas meter training course is designed for gas engineers involved in the fitting, exchange, removal and commissioning of diaphragm gas meters. The MET4 assessment covers gas meters up to 40 cubic metres per hour capacity, with pipework up to 2” in size.
The gas meter installation course is designed for installers who already hold Core Commercial Gas Safety (COCN1) plus Testing and Purging of Pipework (TPCP1a) and/or Core Meter Installer (CMA1) plus testing and Purging of Pipework (TPCP1a). First Fix of Commercial Pipework (ICPN1) may also be required where alterations to the outlet supply are necessary to facilitate the installation of the meter.
For engineers who only install U16 meters in domestic type premises connected to installation pipework of 35mm (1¼”) or less and within the scope of IGE/UP/1B Edition 3, Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) or Core Emergency Service Provider (CESP1) or CMA1 may be acceptable without TPCP1A or ICPN1.
MET4 training is for candidates involved in diaphragm type gas meter installation, including exchange, commissioning and removal these systems.
