CITB SSSTS course online

You do not need a previous formal qualification. SSSTS is for people who supervise construction work or are preparing to take on that responsibility. Some health and safety knowledge is helpful. If you already hold a valid SSSTS certificate, the one-day Refresher is the renewal route.

SSSTS focuses on supervising people and work on site. SMSTS covers wider site management responsibilities. Choose according to the work you will be responsible for and your employer’s requirements, rather than job title alone. Compare the SMSTS course.

Your CITB SSSTS certificate is valid for five years. Complete the SSSTS Refresher before expiry to renew it. SSSTS is a training certificate, not a CSCS card or an NVQ; it does not replace the separate qualifications and tests required for your chosen card.

Yes. CITB permits live remote delivery under its Site Safety Plus scheme rules. Our SSSTS course is taught live via Zoom, with an instructor, course exercises and assessment. It is not a self-paced video course. Skills Training Group offers SSSTS training live online only.

Each learner needs their own webcam-enabled laptop or computer, microphone and reliable internet connection. A phone cannot be your only device, and colleagues cannot share one screen. You may attend from the same workplace using individual devices in a suitable quiet space. Have your original photographic ID ready for the identity check.

The course takes 2 days, with published hours of 8:30am–5pm UK time; check your joining instructions for the exact schedule. Full attendance is required. If you arrive late, lose connection or cannot attend, contact us promptly. A recording cannot replace attendance, and any recovery arrangements must be agreed with the team.

The assessment checks the topics covered during your training. It has 25 questions, lasts 30 minutes and requires 24 out of 30 marks to pass. Yes. On the full course, you prepare and deliver a short toolbox talk: a practical safety briefing of about five minutes. It forms part of your trainer review, alongside participation and the mandatory exercises.

If you complete the exercises, pass the trainer review and score at least 21 out of 30, CITB permits one resit, normally within 30 days. A score below 21, or an unsuccessful resit, means taking the course again. Ask us about resit arrangements and any charge; a free resit is not assumed.

Tell us before booking about any learning, accessibility or assessment support you need so reasonable adjustments can be discussed. Training and assessment are in English, and translators cannot be used. If you are worried about the assessment, ask us to explain the format and preparation before choosing your dates.

The published price is £199 excluding VAT / £238.80 including VAT per learner. The course includes instructor-led training, official learning materials, course exercises and assessment. Check the booking system for available dates. Contact us about certificate delivery or any resit costs.

Yes, employers can enquire about booking several learners. Tell us the number of people and preferred dates. If your business needs an invoice, purchase order or specific payment terms, ask our team to confirm the arrangements before booking.

CITB-registered employers can ask their local CITB adviser about Employer Networks support before booking. Funding depends on eligibility, available budget and CITB’s current rules. Do not assume that the course automatically qualifies for a grant or reimbursement.
