The two blended courses include online learning before practical attendance. If you are organising places for colleagues, send each learner their preparation and joining information. You will do more than listen to a presentation. Your instructor demonstrates first aid techniques, then helps you practise them with the training equipment.

Emergency First Aid at Work, First Aid at Work and paediatric first aid include practical training and assessment, so you attend those sessions in person. Blended FAW and full paediatric courses include an online element before the practical sessions. Our Level 3 Workplace Mental Health First Aid course is available live online as well as on site.
Yes. Our standard EFAW course includes the additional practical training on life-threatening bleeding and keeping airways open required before SIA door supervisor or security guard training. Your first aid certificate must have at least 12 months remaining when the SIA licence-linked training starts. Check the EFAW course →
Compare full Level 3 Paediatric First Aid with Emergency Paediatric First Aid against your role and employer’s requirements. Full blended paediatric training includes six hours online and one practical day. The emergency paediatric course takes one day. The course cards show the relevant public or on-site delivery options.
Successful EFAW and FAW learners receive an FAIB-accredited certificate, valid for three years. You must complete the training and meet the assessment requirements. Full paediatric first aid has a different award: the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF).
EFAW and FAW certificates last three years. Plan renewal before the expiry date. EFAW renewal repeats the one-day course; existing FAW certificate holders can ask about the two-day requalification course.
